Security, data, continuity and responsibilities: what to review when building your service with confidence.
Each service starts with a scope: resources, administration, data and contacts.
Infrastructure: the quote specifies supplied resources, networking and included interventions.
Customer: applications, user permissions, content and retention policy remain under your control unless delegated in writing.
Managed operations: patching, monitoring and recovery need an assigned owner and procedure.
Build access that is limited to need, reviewable and revocable.
Plan named accounts, separate roles and approval for privileged access. Avoid shared administrator accounts.
MFA, SSO, RBAC and logs: availability and integration depend on the service and must be confirmed in the agreed scope.
Document joiners, role changes, departures, key revocation and emergency access.
Identify which data is processed, where and for what purpose.
Review location, subprocessors, access and retention for the selected service, including backup copies.
Encryption in transit, at rest and key management must be defined in the architecture; distinguish an option from actual activation.

Choose datasets, frequency, retention and a separate location. Account for application dependencies and required keys.
